Swimsuit Vending Machine
Story of the day: The hotel chain André Balazs’ has teamed up with Quicksilver to offer co-branded swimsuit which will be sold in the hotel and near pools in vending machines.
These swimsuits will be sold in special vending machines in Los Angeles, Miami and New York throughout August. The director of marketing at Quicksilver who is probably in the team which came up with this idea said:
“We decided to collaborate and make something cool as well as useful for Standard guests. Our core product is boardshorts, and The Standard hotels have pretty notorious pool scenes, so swimsuits made a lot of sense.”
You heard that right. It’s summer and when two genius minds think alike they usually come up with a pretty odd but well-thought idea like that. I mean, who doesn’t go for a swim in summer?

Hollywood Shorts
4 different styles of shorts for men were designed with each one representing the city in which the hotel is. For example, they have a blue one with white stars on it for Hollywood.
To top it off, they include a small booklet ‘Quick Tips’ which is a guide for people wearing swimsuits and tells about places they should visit and some others they should check out in the city they are in.
The first vending machine opens in Los Angeles on August 8th and I can imagine the buzz this may create in the place where it will be setup. Who wouldn’t prefer getting swimwear shorts from a vending machine instead of the shop.
So finally, you found out a solution if you plan to go for a swim at 3 AM at night and know that all the shops are closed. No worries, just grab one at the vending machine and chill out.
