Monk
Yes, it’s true. The show many of us love and others can’t stand is ending. Yup, I am talking about Monk. Now many of you are wondering, why is such a hot show ending? The reason is because USA network has declared that as the seasons progressed, the production costs have increased and the network likely finds it hard to justify. For those of you who have no idea who Adrian Monk is, let me give you a brief overview. Monk tells the story of a San Francisco police detective. He has a perfect job and is married to the girl of his dreams, Trudy.
One day, Trudy dies in a car bomb. The death of his wife completely changes him. After taking leave from the force, he returns after three years. He develops OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and many phobias. While enduring his phobias, Monk helps the department with homicide investigations and is dedicated to finding his wife’s killer.
The show may seem depressing at times, but it is very interesting to watch how Monk solves crimes. Anyway, back to the headline. The show debuted July 12, 2002. It started to become successful and grew to an average of 6.1 million viewers in season 6.
The show airs on Friday nights, adding to it’s success. The season is ending after 8 years of going strong. Make sure you catch the last 16 episodes. Will Monk find his wife’s killers? Find true love once again? Overcome his phobias?
